As the Head of People, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our company culture, fostering professional development, and ensuring that our team thrives. You’ll work closely with leadership to build an environment where every team member can grow and contribute to our shared success.

Waracle are looking for a Head of People, based in Central Scotland and able to work across our office locations in Scotland and England as required, in a hybrid working pattern.

The Role

Steering the People function’s development and direction, aligning it with service delivery and the broader group objectives. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of People will play a key role in instilling insightful and creative people solutions, fostering a culture that resonates with the organisation’s values, performance standards, and development goals.

Your focus will be on crafting and advancing forward-thinking plans in areas like performance management, well-being, and talent attraction. As part of enhancing our Employee Value Proposition (EVP), you’ll lead the creation of an enticing employee-focused reward strategy that adheres to best practices and positions us strongly in the market.

Some areas of the role would include:

  • Developing and managing employee compensation and benefits programs that are competitive and aligned with industry standards.

  • Evolving performance management systems that align with the company’s goals and values, providing training and development opportunities to improve team member skills and productivity, and conducting performance evaluations.

  • Creating and managing policies and procedures that promote a positive work environment and managing employee relations.

  • Ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, including diversity and inclusion initiatives.

  • Using HR data to inform decision-making and improve HR programs and processes.

  • Designing and delivering leadership and management development programmes

  • Helping the company and the People team to be notable leaders in our (their) field

  • You will have previous experience operating at a very senior level, being a sound, trusted advisor to a progressive organisation.

  • You will have a proven capacity to build strong relationships, cultivating a respect-based mindset internally.

  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement and innovation – experience in Bamboo and Kantata would be a bonus.

  • You will bring new, rationalised ideas and solutions, focused on the organisation’s commercial planning and be comfortable as an innovator.

  • You will have demonstrable experience in ambitious, progressive HR and commercial operations ideally within a professional services, software and design environment.

  • MA, MBA or CIPD Qualifications are desirable but not essential.

  • Experience in M & A
