ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor who thrives in a fast-paced, design-led environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the financial management of multiple fit-out projects — ensuring cost control, value engineering, and profitability from inception through to completion.

Working closely with the wider project and design teams, this role will involve both pre- and post-contract duties, client liaison, and commercial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain full financial control of projects to ensure target margins are achieved or exceeded.

  • Prepare and manage valuations, variations, cost reports, and final accounts.

  • Evaluate subcontractor quotations and assist in selecting the most suitable partners.

  • Produce client applications for payment and oversee subcontractor payment processes.

  • Identify and implement opportunities for value engineering to enhance project profitability.

  • Attend site meetings and provide commercial input to ensure programme and budget alignment.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and the supply chain.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the commercial team.

  • REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial fit-out or design & build projects.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver strong commercial results.

  • Sound working knowledge of JCT contracts and construction processes.

  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and financial accuracy.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.

  • A proactive, team-oriented approach with the ability to work independently when required.
