SEN Teacher (SEMH) – Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire
£25–£30 per hour | Flexible hours | 1:1 and small-group tuition
TP Tutors is looking for compassionate and experienced SEN Teachers to provide personalised tuition for learners with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in Bilsthorpe and the wider Nottinghamshire area. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students who need a patient, flexible, and understanding approach to achieve their potential.
The Role
You will deliver tailored one-to-one and small-group tuition in learners’ homes, schools, or community settings. Sessions may focus on core subjects (English, maths, science, or functional skills), while also building resilience, confidence, and self-esteem. Your teaching will play a vital role in helping learners re-engage with education.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver tuition adapted for learners with SEMH needs
Provide a supportive, nurturing, and consistent learning environment
Use creative approaches to break down barriers to learning
Track progress and provide constructive feedback to learners and parents/carers
Comply with safeguarding and child protection policies
Requirements
Qualified teacher status (QTS/QTLS) or tutoring experience in SEN/SEMH
Strong understanding of SEMH and strategies to support learners
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Patient, empathetic, and resilient teaching style
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Current safeguarding training
