Role responsibilities
To support the improvement of wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience and behaviour management within Redstone Hall SchoolWork with members of the Education team to support young people’s personal and academic development by removing barriers to learningTo promote positive learning behaviour with young peopleTo lead classes during PPA and absence cover, the planning will be supported by teaching staff.To deliver an enrichment golden time activityTo support in lessons with academic understanding or pastoral, emotional or behavioural needTo respond to immediate concerns clarifying the situationTo create and collate information relating to lessons and interventions deliveredTo assist in the preparation of information relevant to the meetings about pupilsTo be an advocate for the ethos of Redstone Hall SchoolTo lead on Reading and Phonics – reviewing progress made by young peopleTo develop the role of Pupil Voice Liaising with SLT about the Pupil CouncilTo develop relationships with parents/carers, taking an active role in transitions and consultation visits Requirements
Have a strong basic education, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, and sound IT skillsPrevious experience in a similar role ie, HLTASome previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an educational settingBe experienced and confident enough to take additional responsibility in an area of school ie, Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, School Yoga etc.Experience of behaviour management and techniquesCommitted to professional development and willing to learn What we offer
