Salary range: £20,493 – £22,627 pro-rata, per annum (Hourly rate equivalent £10.62 to £11.73)
Work location: SENSS Communication and Interaction Resource Base, St Andrews School, Chinnor
Hours per week: 31.50 (Term-time only, 39 working weeks)
Contract type: Temporary for one year (with the possibility of extension or being made permanent)

We are looking for an enthusiastic teaching assistant for a five day position (31.5 hours per week) role working in the specialist resource base at ST Andrews School for children with Autism and Communication and Interaction needs.
About us
Our Communication and Interaction Resource Bases belong in mainstream schools where you will work closely with specialist classroom teachers, providing directed support, care and supervision to children including those who have Autistic Spectrum Disorders and associated language, interaction, learning and communication difficulties.
About the role
The aim of your support and guidance will be to enable the children in Key stage 1 & 2 to access the curriculum and to facilitate full inclusion in school life, supporting children to learn as independently as possible and to develop to their full potential.
The temporary Contract is to the end of the Academic year with the possibility of renewal or being made permanent thereafter.

Our ideal candidate has a quiet and encouraging manner, highly developed communication skills and the ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
You need to be open to learning and to have an awareness of the importance of inclusion for children and young people with Special Educational Needs.
