Our offerCapgemini Engineering have an opportunity for a Voice Core Signalling Designer to join the team in Slough.Your roleThe Voice Network Evolution and Architecture team is responsible for delivering Tier 1 core voice services, platforms and the support of them through excellent operational support systems. They are responsible for all mobile switching platforms that carry voice traffic in the O2 Voice services network from CS voice, IMS, UDC , signalling and interconnection to the outside world.As a Signalling and Service designer you will report to the signalling manager. You will be working alongside other colleagues to provide a network design to support a new business initiative around MVNO integration. You will be responsible to drive the design changes to support the 3G/4G/IMS integration, including supporting signalling systems and protocols SS7, CAMEL, MAP, INAP, SIGTRAN, SIP, Diameter. The role includes working with the MVNO project team and suppliers to review compliance statements, produce design HLDs, to act as the single point of contact for protocol related issues and support the end to end testing to troublehoot integration issues.The role includes working with other internal design and test leads along with suppliers to specify requirements, review compliance statements, ensure use cases are identified and can be tested against, and act as the point of contact for platform and service design related issues for the MVNO technical integration.The role will work with the signalling technical design authority and take ownership of the service designs to integrate an MVNO onto the Voice Core network, including IP-STP, DSC (DA, DRA,DEA), OCS and IMS/legacy core voice network nodes.The role includes technical support to the MVNO deployment, working with teams across multi-disciplined areas, such as service design, IP design, packet core design, security and project teams to define statements of requirement to meet design needs.Your profileYou will have experience of working in a Tier 1 mobile network operator or network equipment supplier to Tier 1 mobile operators. You will have extensive knowledge of cellular networks (2G, 3G, 4G, & IMS), networking principles and associated signalling systems and protocols SS7, CAMEL, SIGTRAN, SIP, Diameter and MAP.You will have experience and proven track record in the production of multiple high and low level structural, functional and physical design documents for 2G/3G/4G and IMS elements.You will be expected to produce designs to enable signalling architecture changes and liaise with suppliers and other operators to identify and influence associated element functionality.You will be able to dimension signalling/IP elements to meet service demand as part of new designs and evaluate any signalling anomalies to maintain signalling network integrity.You will have testing experience that demonstrates troubleshooting and investigation of signalling flows.You will also assist the test team to identify testing requirements that align with the designs you are involved in.You will be fully conversant with network monitoring and tracing tools, to support the design and integration of the new service.Your extensive knowledge will be used as a source of expertise to identify design issues or impacts around signalling issues related to the project, through testing and fault resolution to initial deployment.You will need to demonstrate strong analytical skills and sound practical judgement and will need to understand complex and often conflicting requirements, to chart a course through to a satisfactory business solution.You will have to think innovatively and have the ability to continuously generate ideas for improving the customer experience through design and test.You will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated team player with drive to succeed and you will have excellent communications skills with a proven ability to interface and explain detailed technical concepts and design principles.
