Team description: Our vision with the product insights and performance team is to provide a coherent and holistic assessment of product performance across Expedia Group! We drive and facilitate a swift move towards a suite of common measurement for both behavioral and experiential metrics.

And validates and surfaces customer experience signals and impact to our Product partners.

Business Contribution/Impact: This team leads product performance related strategic analytics, ensuring that top level understanding of performance and the resulting decisions being made are off the back of sound data and analytics principles. This results in simplification, efficiency improvement, consistency and clear accountability on product performance measurement.

What you’ll do:

  • Understand functional metrics and approach insights strategically, considering impacts to the wider business strategy.

  • Communicate across various levels of the organization; able to influence partners and senior leaders with relevant information. This will also include contributing to the team culture by spreading passion and encouraging goodwill towards the department.

  • Communicate team goals, progress and outputs within and across teams.

  • Frame Expedia’s most sophisticated business problems as an analytics problem and concrete set of analytical tasks.

  • Pick analytically valid approaches, appropriate in terms of level of effort, favoring iterative delivery that solves for the objective, not the ask (i.e. not just order-taking).

  • Build environment for team efficiency, where strengths are known and built upon and learning is shared to build capacity.

  • Determine a suitable method for the problem considering underlying assumptions

  • Display advanced domain (i.e. travel, online retail) knowledge, understanding the underlying business objectives and critical reasoning skills

  • Apply data visualization principles consistently resulting in clear outcomes

Who you are:

  • Experience, over 5 years in drafting and driving a vision and strategy for a capability or function

  • Creative and analytical in thinking with a love for data, to both disagree with and convince senior partners backed by data

  • Deliver work for defined domain /capability areas

  • Collaborate with senior management and partnered product, development and data science partners to deliver a portfolio of work and a high performing, well managed and talented team.

  • Experienced People Manager including contributing to development talent planning.

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD or Equivalent Experience; Mathematics, Science, Statistics degree or a related Technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience is applicable.
