We are looking for an experienced Material Review Board (MRB) Engineer (Dynamics/Drive systems), to join the Through Life Customer Support (TLCS) engineering and supportability team located in the United Kingdom (UK).
This is a permanent position reporting to the TLCS Almondbank Site manager based in Almondbank, Perthshire, Scotland

The role will apply knowledge of Boeing design principles to assess and resolve product/process issues through the product lifecycle. The successful candidate will conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for identified non-conformances. The MRB engineer will identify, document, communicate deviations that could impact design intent / safety and coordinate with the Design Organisation as required to resolve emergent airworthiness issues and concerns. The ability to support and identify product/process improvements and provide comprehensive build knowledge of the end product to ensure producability will be a key attribute associated with this position. The MRB engineer will represent the Boeing CH47 engineering community in the post production environment and shall support fault investigations and corrective actions to assure product integrity is supported and sustained.
The individual shall have a significant amount of demonstrated experience and knowledge in a highly complex engineering environment to include; application of maintenance procedures, practices, engineering standards and specifications to support the execution of depot level maintenance activities. Prior knowledge of standard workshop practices, tooling set up is a distinct advantage

You will support the product repair and overhaul lines by providing procedures, authorized repair advice and associated technical data to address engineering clarification questions or concerns such that site output performance metrics are maintained. You will, apply knowledge of engineering, maintenance and design processes and data that are necessary for defining optimized component recovery techniques to include; utilizing design definitions, program directives, engineering drawings, schematics, functional tests or supplier data. The candidate should be familiar with the MAA Regulatory Publications (MRP), especially regulation pertaining to RA 5865 (Repairs). You will apply strict engineering analysis of the mechanical design standard, to develop and maintain technical data, condition and resolve problems for aircraft components. At all times you will work to ensure compliance with customer and Boeing engineering requirements in the support of safe and efficient operation, release to service and continued airworthiness within designated engineering boundaries.
Knowledge of the Chinook platform backed or prior experience in a maintenance environment directly supporting critical safety items is a distinct advantage.

This position has provision for personal development and growth with the suitable candidate having attained the required education and competency levels with a view to MRB accreditation and subsequent advancement to full MRB status. Ability to obtain Material Review Board authority will be required. All applicants must be supported by a strong working portfolio with demonstrated experience.

Prior experience in the field of helicopter and aircraft fleet maintenance is desirable.


  • Analyze, Interpret and apply complex engineering drawings, specifications, standards. Quality focused with an ability to demonstrate a solid understanding of airworthiness requirements, configuration management and control. Use of and applies job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts. Provide substantiated rationale underpinning continuous improvement activities through concept, planning and implementation phases.

  • Extensive knowledge of repair, maintenance, and retrofit processes and practices (e.g. unplanned event system, technical orders, kitting, overhaul and depot support).
  • Ability to direct, communicate clearly, and ensure performance of assigned responsibilities and tasks with a high degree of proficiency in support of large scale and complex projects. The successful candidate must possess the ability to communicate complex technical issues, theories and recommendations via reports and or software applications.
  • Customer Knowledge: Knowledge and experience of MoD Regulatory Articles, projects, preferably Chinook related will be a distinct advantage

Prior experience in the field of helicopter and aircraft fleet maintenance is desirable.


•    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering (e.g. Bachelor’s degree).
