Power Platform Specialist/Developer – Power BI/Power Apps
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Power Platform Specialist/Developer – Power BI/Power Apps to join our team in Derby.
You will help enable the on-going creation, translation and consumption of data-driven insights to help Rolls-Royce and their customers to make better decisions – increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the services that we and our customers deliver. The main accountability is to convert data into meaningful insights through interactive and easy-to-understand Power BI dashboards and reports. You are responsible for the development and administration of Power BI products along with complete knowledge of the BI system.

Ingesting data from a variety of corporate data sources and performing required transformations in the Power BI query editor using a mixture of utilising the UI and writing M code.
Undertaking data analyses to support decision making, Utilising effectively the navigation features in Power BI (e.g. bookmarks, drill-through) to guide readers through a compelling data-driven story.
Responsible for design methodology and project documentation.
Provide technical support and guidance through prototyping, testing, build, and launch of Power BI products.
Data Modelling and Developing calculations in DAX which are accurate and performing on large datasets.
Develop production-ready Reports, Dashboards and deploy to corporate platform, working in Dev-Ops environment for solution delivery.
Designing effective layouts using Data Visualisations best practices and Develop user manual / training documentation.
Qualifications and experience:
Excellent in analytical thinking for translating data into informative visuals and reports.
Adapt in developing, publishing and scheduling Power BI reports as per the business requirements.
Have knowledge and experience in prototyping, designing, and requirement analysis.
Able to integrate Power BI reports into other applications using embedded analytics such as, Power BI service, or by API automation.
Possess a sound knowledge of database management, SQL querying, data modelling, data warehousing, & business intelligence.
Comprehensive knowledge of data design, data modelling, data management, data visualization and an analytical mind-set with a problem-solving approach
