Responsible for providing project management engineering expertise for projects up to medium complexity, providing oversight and direction to cross-discipline team members, 3rd party engineering and contract resources, applying advanced technical integrity to the project and ensuring work activities are completed across all phases of the project are delivered in accordance with industry-leading cost and schedules to ensure the maximum return on investment to BP and HSSE and ethical standards and in compliance with all relevant statutory requirements.

Do you want to be part of a diverse team leading delivery of Hydrogen solutions directly to our customers?

The Hydrogen Mobility Project Manager will play a key role in the management and coordination of the new project and programme activities supporting the implementation of the Future Mobility & Solutions (FM&S) Strategy around Hydrogen and EV charging for commercial fleets globally, initially focused on the go to market plan in the UK and mainland Europe. The roles prime responsibility will be to establish core tools and processes and lead the co-ordination and delivery of these cross functional projects across all markets.

What the role does!

Programme Management
• Provide project management support to several commercial infrastructure and partnership projects that are in various stages from project initiation to project completion, located in the UK and mainland Europe.
• Accountable for the end to end project management process starting from planning to implementation and operation, including risk identification/mitigation and project budget and resource management.
• Act as the main contact for all cross functional teams supporting the project ensuring that all activities are planned and coordinated – this includes engineering, asset, supply chain, digital, fleet and customer teams.
• Accountable for ensuring the Delivery SPA and the FM&S leadership team has a structured overview (dashboards) of all projects within their remit.
• Support commercial development governance processes and meetings.
• Own and lead the interface with external partners, overseeing the validation and fulfilment of additional external project resource requests.

Process development and risk assurance
• Develop and implement the project development process to support the partnership project implementation – in line with FM&S revised way of working methodologies (Agile, Kanban, etc).
• Own the risk management process across the portfolio of projects in the UK and mainland Europe.

Communications
• Co-ordinate and produce periodic project communications e.g. project dashboards where necessary.
• Develop standardised project reporting materials to support senior project governance.
• Build relationships across the business and project locations (UK and mainland Europe) to support successful project delivery.
• Lead multi-disciplined, cross functional team – acting as project focal point and providing guidance to broader project team.

What we need from you!

We are looking for someone with a degree level qualification. You will have significant commercial/business experience, ideally in downstream technology and process development. We are looking for someone with advanced project/programme management skills and evidence of delivery. The successful candidate will need prior experience in managing multiple complex multidisciplinary projects. Experience in hydrogen or alternative fuels technology and implementation is desirable.

To be successful in the role you will need strong communication and influencing skills. Strong project and programme management skills are essential given the roles focus on managing multiple projects.

Please note this role can be based anywhere in Europe (preference is UK/Germany).
