£27,447 (inclusive of shift allowance)

Day and Night shifts on rotation

Driving Licence essential for this role

Are you looking for a role where no 2 days will be the same? 

 

Our client partners with a variety of companies that offer high quality laboratory, office and manufacturing facilities and they are looking for a Security Officer to work with tenants to ensure their security whilst on the site.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Controlling access at designated gates and entrances

• Preventing unauthorized persons from entering restricted areas.

• Operating security barriers & gates.

• Escorting visitors around the park.

• Patrolling assigned areas in accordance with managers and team leaders’ instructions. These patrols can be completed either on foot or by a combination of foot & vehicle.

• Reporting on, and where required enforce Discovery Park parking and traffic regulations.

• Ensuring the safe and secure issue, custody, and receipt of keys to authorised personnel and maintain the key register.

• Providing Information and assistance professionally during any contacts with Discovery Park personnel and members of the public.

• Producing simple factual (Written and/or verbal) reports in a brief, clear and accurate manner, containing all the required and necessary details

• Writing reports as maybe required

• Escorting Product & Materials as required

Essential Requirements:

• Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

• Able to communicate clearly and succinctly both face to face, over the phone and radio.

• Able to listen to communications via the radio or other telephony.

• Able to perform lengthy foot patrols by day and night in all weather conditions.

• Able to stand, walk or sit for extended periods.

• Able to respond to emergencies, including assisting a person or persons to safety.

• Able to deter a person or persons from entering premises or to physically escort a person or persons from the premises.

• Demonstrate a strong customer focus.

• Have a good standard of numeracy and literacy.

• Be computer literate and experienced with computer software – Microsoft Office, Access control, Intruder alarm and fire alarm systems.

• Have good time management and organisational skills.

• Be able to work well under pressure.

• Be self-motivated.

• Able to work effectively as part of a team and on own initiative.

• Have a genuine desire to provide security services with a high degree of personal responsibility.

• Hold a full current clean driving licence (must be over 21 – insurance requirement)
