Downside School is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 11 to 18, and one of England’s oldest and most distinguished Catholic schools. We are situated at the foot of the Mendip Hills, twelve miles south of the city of Bath.

About our Health Centre: We are a health provision in a Boarding School for UK national and international pupils. We have a minor injury and illness treatment room, an eight-bedded unit for in-patient care (if required), three GP led clinics each week, a Counselling and Wellbeing Team all of whom work together to support the day-to-day health needs of the School pupil population.

Who we are looking for: Someone with a passion for working in a busy health centre, with robust clinical skills and knowledge in assessing and treating a range of injuries, illnesses and medical conditions. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and understand the way in which different cultural expectations influence health behaviors. As a Nurse you will have the ability to work autonomously, in a team and have a commitment to partnership working. The ability to use your own initiative, prioritise and make informed clinical evidence-based decisions is essential.

This is a permanent position. Working approximately 36 hrs per week and 34 weeks per year during our school term time, plus an additional five days for training and INSET.

Salary: Commensurate with NHS Band 6
