Job summary

Transformation Partners in Health & Care wishes to recruit a highly skilled and experienced Project Officer to join a new programme of work, developing London’s pathways for addressing co-occurring mental health, learning disabilities/ difficulties and substance misuse for people who are homeless and/or rough sleeping.

The relationship between mental health/learning difficulties and substance misuse is well known and an extensive evidence base exists detailing the relationship and impact of these co-occurring conditions for people experiencing homelessness. Despite the high incidence of co-occurring mental health and substance misuse issues, people experiencing homelessness in London continue to encounter problems accessing and engaging in either substance misuse or mental health treatment.

Main duties of the job

As a Project Officer you will work as part of a dynamic team embedded within Integrated Care System (ICS) health inclusion teams. You will work in partnership with local stakeholders and Experts by Experience to develop protocols and pathways to improve outcomes for people with co-occurring conditions across the ICS region. The programme aims to ensure that there is no “wrong door” to support and treatment. You will be part of a team of five leads who will deliver a work programme set out by the Pan London rough sleeping drug and alcohol delivery group, driving strategic and operational change across London.

We are looking for someone with experience of developing relationships with a breadth of stakeholders in London. We are particularly looking for someone with a good understanding and or experience of co-occurring mental health, learning disabilities/ difficulties, substance misuse and homelessness/rough sleeping.

The role will be co-located within North East London (NEL) Integrated Care System with regular attendance at the east London NEL site in Stratford, E15. You will be expected to travel across London for various meetings and project activities, as required.

This role is a full time, fixed term position until March 2024. It is also being advertised on a secondment (acting up) basis or as an assignment rotation opportunity. If applying on a secondment (acting up) basis, then the staff member will return to their substantive role at the end of the fixed term.

About us

As Project Officer you will work as part of a dynamic team to support Transformation Partners in Health and Care (TPHC) to transform care for patients. This will include providing project management support to the delivery lead of a programme to ensure outputs are delivered effectively and to time, and that all pan-London outputs align with, and support, local transformation programmes across Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), Integrated Care Systems (ICSs)and Strategic Planning Groups. This role is flexible, and you will be allocated to projects that match your skill set providing the opportunity to work across a range of projects in both health and care. We will work with you to ensure that you are supported in developing your career whilst having the opportunity to work on some of the most strategic and transformative programmes in London.
