Job summary

This Assistant Technical Officer post offers an exciting opportunity to develop your laboratory skills. As a Band 3 Assistant Technical officer, you will participate in the laboratory testing procedures and provide technical support to Scientific staff within the Haematology and Blood Transfusion are an IBMS accredited training laboratory committed to education, training and clinical excellence. We offer excellent training programmes for IBMS registration and specialist portfolios and beyond. All staff are actively encouraged to develop themselves and assist in the education of you are an overseas candidate wishing to apply and would require sponsorship, you can determine the likelihood of obtaining a CoS for this post by assessing your circumstances against criteria specified on the website

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for receipt of pathology specimens and preparation for analysis. Also you will be running the analysers, including completing any required maintenance and processing patients samples, under the guidance of biomedical scientists. You will assist in training staff within the department.
