The Leadership, Performance and Culture team have a crucial role to play developing our diverse group of leaders and managers, through the provision of products and services that build capability ensuring our leaders and managers have the right skills at the right time to deliver strategic and operational goals. Main duties of the job

Communicating highly complex information to a wide range of people at all levels where there may be barriers to understanding, both internal and external to the organisation, to enable the provision and implementation of high-quality education and learning and development opportunities;Developing effective working relationships with senior managers and staff at all levels across directorates through good communication and have awareness and understanding of the various development and people management issues which affect each department;Keeping abreast of current development initiatives through regular Continuing Professional and Personal Development opportunities;Leading the design, development, delivery, assessment, and evaluation of a specific programme caseload, ensuring that learning quality assurance standards are met at all times and interventions are continuously reviewed and improved in conjunction with learners and business need;Utilising diverse and inclusive learning techniques throughout all programme development ensuring the methods and materials used follow current development initiatives;Ensuring that individual assessment plans are negotiated to fully meet the programmes learning outcomes and that constructive feedback and support is provided to ensure timely progress is maintained at regular intervals throughout the programme;Keeping accurate records to meet learning quality assurance standard;

  • Hold a Level 7 (equivalent to Masters) qualification in L&D or OD or equivalent relevant experience to Masters level with the willingness to work towards the Masters/Level 7 qualification.

Experience

  • Proven experience working in a Learning & Development (L&D) /Organisational Design and Development (OD) Practitioner role;
  • Ability to design, deliver, assess and evaluate L&D/OD interventions and have an understanding of learning theory and OD interventions
  • Experience of team dynamics, coaching and mentoring on an individual and group basis and the ability to apply this experience to enable team effectiveness;
  • The ability to support the Head of Learning and other Learning Services Managers in the development of the L&D/OD strategy;
  • Awareness of issues surrounding people management performance management, consultation, absence & discipline;
  • Experience of managing and improving services; planning processes and managing people and resources, critically evaluating and encouraging improvement and innovation;
  • Demonstrable experience of setting direction making decisions and evaluating impact, contributing to the L&D/OD strategy and aspirations;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that result in the development of strong and effective working relationships with managers and colleagues;
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and abilities including use of self, self-awareness, self-management, political astuteness, empowering others and holding to account;
