We’re expanding all our Liaison Psychiatry services as part of our STP’s vision. All our liaison teams are expanding in Hampshire to become CORE-24 and PLAN accredited liaison services for adults and older adults. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a versatile, enthusiastic individual to work with the existing Liaison team at SHFT and PHFT and help provide outstanding care to our service users and patients as they are at the centre of everything we do.

Please note that GMC registration (with a licence to practice) and right to work in the UK are essential for this role. Successful applicants will already have GMC registration or will be able to demonstrate they are eligible. Applicants requiring Tier 2 sponsorship should ensure they meet the Home Office application criteria prior to submitting an application

Main duties of the job

*To undertake timely administrative duties associated with the care of patients

*To record clinical activity accurately and comprehensively

*To participate in service and business planning activity for the service

*To participate in annual appraisal for consultants

*To attend and participate in the academic programme of the Trust, including lectures and seminars as part of the internal CPD programme

*To maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council, Mental Health Act Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician (AC) approval, and to abide by professional codes of conduct

*To participate annually in a job plan review with the clinical manager, which will include consultation with a relevant manager in order to ensure that the post is developed to take into account changes in service configuration and delivery associated with modernisation

*To work with local managers and professional colleagues in ensuring the efficient running of services.

*To manage, appraise and give professional supervision to junior medical staff as agreed between consultant colleagues and the Medical Director and in accordance with the Trust’s personnel policies and procedures. This may include assessing competences under the Modernising Medical Careers framework

*To ensure that junior medical staff working with the post-holder operate within the parameters of the New Deal and are compliant with the Working Time Directive

  • MRCPsych or recognised equivalent
  • Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 12 months of CCT at time of interview. CCT in general adult psychiatry.

Desirable
