If you’re a patient and engaging teacher or tutor, experienced in maths, English or science at GCSE level and who would relish the opportunity to work with students in their own homes or schools delivering tuition on a 1:1 or small group basis, then we’d love to work with you. Learners referred to us may demonstrate complex learning requirements – distinct experience in the following will be advantageous:

  • ASD/ASC
  • SEMH
  • Dyslexia/Dyspraxia
  • Trauma

The role

You’ll provide in-person or online tuition to students of all abilities who have either disengaged with education or who are struggling to meet age-related academic expectations. Your skill and expertise will play a leading role in improving self-confidence, subject knowledge and ultimately a positive outcome for all students.

Key responsibilities

  • Create lesson plans and deliver tuition programmes that are designed to engage, inspire and teach.
  • Report on attendance, attainment and engagement for all tutoring sessions.
  • Liaise with the school, local authority, Fleet Education Services or other key stakeholders to inform and support the students.
  • Complete training as required and commit to safeguarding principles.

Requirement

  • Minimum degree level qualification in the subject area you teach.
  • Minimum 6 months teaching/tutoring experience preferred.
  • Professional teaching qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Experience or wish to work with students with SEN, SEMH and other complex needs desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding.
  • Must live and be eligible to work in the UK,
  • You must be willing to undertake a full Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and referencing process, as well as subscribing to the DBS Update Service.
