Job summary
The Dorset All Age Eating Disorders Service (DAEDS) is looking to recruit a Research and Outcomes Assistant. This is a full-time, permanent post; part-time hours will also be considered. You will be based at St Ann’s Hospital in Poole, flexibility to work between St Ann’s and our other DAEDS sites in Dorchester and Bournemouth will be required.
You will hold a varied and interesting role, coordinating the development and management of service evaluation projects and the use of outcome measures within this busy service.
A passion for service improvement as well as for the integrity of data, excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team is essential. You will also need to have capacity to manage your own workload.
We are looking for someone who has an interest in eating disorders across the life span, and who brings research and data management skills to the table, being proficient in the use of both SPSS and Microsoft Excel.
Main duties of the job
You will support the DAEDS Service Manager by working within the clinical team to progress and develop research and evaluation projects, inputting data to spreadsheets, as well as using the data collected for analysis in order to inform service direction and development. Collating data for reporting performance within the Trust is a regular requirement. There is also involvement in data collection to support the evidence base for FREED (First Episode Rapid Early Intervention in Eating Disorders) which is a developing national service.
Under the direction and supervision of the DAEDS Service Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the eating disorders research, audit, outcomes and development activities. You will also maintain and update the service databases including SPSS and will compile regular reports for the ED service to assist in service development and monitoring.
