My client an industry leading Rail contractor are looking for an enthusiastic Site Engineer to join their ever expanding major projects division, which involves station upgrades and new builds, construction of concrete structures, and heavy civils. As a Site Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the project specifications are met, and that the works are completed safely and to a high standard.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately setting out the works in accordance with the project specifications and drawings
  • Managing and supervising subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely, on time, and to a high standard
  • Overseeing the construction of concrete structures and heavy civils, including drainage, retaining walls, and bridges
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and guidelines, and promoting a safe working environment for all workers on site
  • Liaising with the project manager and design team to ensure project specifications are met, and raising any issues or concerns as required
  • Providing regular progress reports to the project manager, and keeping accurate records of site activities
  • Ensuring all project documentation is up to date and accurate, including method statements, risk assessments, and site reports
  • Requirements:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, and at least 5 years of experience working on major rail projects
  • Experience in station upgrades and new builds, construction of concrete structures, and heavy civils, including drainage, retaining walls, and bridges
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with subcontractors, project managers, and other stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and address issues proactively
  • A thorough knowledge of health and safety regulations and guidelines, and the ability to promote a safe working environment for all workers on site
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
