The Autism Assessment Service is looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Administrator.

The autism assessment service is passionate about engaging children, young people and families to understand their own strengths and needs and to work together to promote wellbeing. We have several members of staff who have lived experience of neurodivergence, and our team are well regarded for our innovative ways of working, having received several individual awards and team Trust recognition for our work .

We are very excited to have secured funding for this post to support the team to develop a self-referral model, recognising that the best people to tell us about what they need are young people and their families. Our service strives to be responsive to the needs of neurodivergent young people and their families, and our goal over the next year is to refresh our processes and resources.

The post holder will benefit from close working relationships in the MDT Autism Assessment Team and the Specialist Children’s Services Admin Team teams as part of a wider integrated Specialist Children’s Service.

Main duties of the job

To provide efficient and effective confidential clerical support to the Autism Assessment Team within Specialist Children’s Services (SCS) including:

  • Deal with telephone calls and take messages, which may be sensitive in nature, from staff, patients, carers and colleagues from external agencies, and communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Input information onto the electronic patient record and communicate with relevant staff
  • Send reports, letters and emails as required.
  • Co-ordinate clinics
  • Maintain comprehensive office systems ensuring prompt access to information.
  • Maintain electronic systems database, spreadsheets, etc. containing and staff and patient-related information.
  • Take minutes for clinical meetings
