Reception Class teacher Permanent

We are seeking an excellent Early Years practitioner to join our highly effective team at Ashley Down Primary School. The post is for a reception class teacher and the successful candidate will benefit from working within an aspirational yet supportive team.

We are looking for the right candidate who:

  •  Is passionate about teaching and learning in the early years and wants to innovate and think creatively
  •  Has a sound understanding of early years practice and can apply this in the context of a reception classroom.
  •  Has high expectations and can scaffold child-led learning to enable personal development and learning progress.
  •  Can inspire a love of reading whilst balancing the need for children to have the foundation of a systematic synthetic phonics programme.
  •  Can apply the behaviour regulation policy and enable children to feel a sense of belonging to Ashley Down Primary School.
  •  Is familiar with the revised statutory framework (1) for the early years foundation stage and other main documents and publications.
  •  Is confident in assessment practice in the EYFS including baseline assessments, formative assessments and the EYFS profile.
  •  Is keen to be part of the wider school beyond their own classroom.
