Randstad Student Support are searching for reliable and committed exam workers to support students with disabilities in upcoming exams, within Universities in Bath in May 2023.
Working as an exam worker you will be providing an essential service to students with disabilities. You will attend exams with the students to provide reader support, scribe support or prompting support.
After the exam period, there is a potential to work for Randstad Student Support in other support roles.
Reader / Scribe Responsibilities:
Providing Reading support to a student during exams, including reading aloud exam questions verbatim when asked and reading aloud the student’s written answer verbatim when asked
Having a clear speaking voice for the role of Reader
Providing Writing support to a student during exams, including writing or typing exam answers verbatim as required
Having clear and accurate handwriting or typing skills as required for the role of Scribe
Providing practical support to a student during exams with drawing or describing graphs, tables and charts as required Some students have only a Reader; others will only have a Scribe. Some students have both a Reader and a Scribe.
Prompter Responsibilities:
Providing Prompting support to a student during exams, including monitoring the student’s activity and attention levels and prompting them when their level of activity drops below that agreed between the student and the Prompter.
Requirements:
Ideally you will be educated to a postgraduate level or will be studying at a postgraduate level
Have neat handwriting – able to produce notes in a legible and presentable manner
Accurate spelling and grammar skills
Punctuality and reliability
You will need to be able to work quickly and under time restrictions
Good organisational skills
Ideally you will have experience in working with specific learning difficulties in higher or further education.
