DALKEITH – HYBRID
£34,056 – £37,024 /year + excellent benefits
Our client has a fantastic opportunity for a Network Architect to join a small, supportive team of just over 40 staff.
As a member of the Networking team, implementing and managing networking / communications solutions across our corporate and school environments. Working largely independently at the direction of the team lead and providing 3rd line support
Day to day, you will;
Provide input to strategic technical issues.
Research, analyse and recommend appropriate choices for the development of key areas of the IT infrastructure.
Conducting trials and compiling reports on effectiveness of potential new systems, suppliers and solutions.
Support the technical infrastructure as part of a small team.
Help resolve Digital Services issues raised by customers to the satisfaction of the customer.
Liaise with suppliers to ensure the correct delivery of services/goods purchased by Digital Services.
Write system documentation.
Provide advice and guidance to junior technical staff.
Provide ad-hoc assistance to the end-user
Essential Skills
The jobholder should hold a Higher National Diploma in Information Technology or similar relevant subject or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience
Be able to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and practical experience in the following technologies
LAN/WAN Technologies,
Wireless Technologies
Telephony systems
Windows Server
The jobholder must also possess excellent written and oral communication skills and organisational skills and have well developed research, analytical and planning skills.
The jobholder is required to maintain a detailed knowledge of all technical related areas which may impact on the technical project delivery as well as maintaining a broad understanding of the IT capabilities and constraints.
The jobholder is expected to keep up to date with advances in new technology and changes in practice, specifically within the technology sector with a view to assessing the appropriateness for wider technical within the Authority.
The jobholder must have experience of maintaining effective relationships with a wide range of organisations and individuals.
