An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced secretary to join the Galaxy House Admin team as Mental Health Administrator/PA.

Galaxy House, sited on the ground floor of the Harrington Building, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital has an opportunity for Mental Health Act Administration/PA to join their Administration Team providing support to our multidisciplinary team.

Galaxy House is a 12 bedded inpatientward managed within the RMCH Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) CSU that provides care for children and young peoplefrom across North-West England. The ward has recently retained its Gold Award status in the Trust Ward Accreditation process and also holds accreditation with the Quality Network for Inpatient CAMHS (QNIC) and Quality Network for Eating Disorders (QNED). It also holdsan “outstanding” rating by the CQC.

Main duties of the job

If you have got:

A minimum of 3 years previous Secretarial experience

Knowledge of Mental Health Act and its implications

We are looking for a positive team player to join our busy Admin Team. The qualities we are looking for are:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills within a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines
  • To be highly motivated and work with and without direction
  • To demonstrate a positive work ethic and professionalism, as you will be liaising with a variety of professionals within the patient’s care team
  • To work well with systems and procedures
  • Education to GCSE level standard
  • To be competent in the use of standard office applications such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience of taking minutes at meetings to a high standard
  • A minimum of 2 years’ previous experience within a relevant administrative or clinical role (desirable)
