Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Receptionist/wardclerk 15 hours to join the team on the SURGSDEC (surgical same day emergencycare and acute surgical unit).

We areseeking to appoint a motivated and dynamic ward clerk to support themultidisciplinary team. The applicant will be expected to be able to work aspart of a team, manage their own time and prioritise workload effectively.

The rolerequires good communication and interpersonal skills with good IT skills.

Main duties of the job

This wardclerk role provides the first point of contact to patients attending the unitfrom and from UECC (Urgent and emergency care centre). You will provideadministration support for the activity within the busy assessment area andsupport the medical and nursing staff in ensuring that patients attending havea positive experience.

The mainduties include:

  • Greet all visitors to theward in a helpful and polite manner
  • Assist with all enquiriesas possible
  • Maintain accurateadmission, transfer and discharge information
  • Ensure stationarysupplies are maintained
