Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School, is a single form entry school within Seaforth Village. The Governors wish to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious and self -motivated person who would provide security, caretaking and general maintenance of our school site, to ensure a welcoming and safe environment for the whole school community.   • About the Role
    The successful candidate will:

  • be responsible for the day to day operational management, safety, cleanliness and security of the school, responsible for locking and unlocking the school
  • carry out and record basic checks and help to maintain Health and Safety records
  • support the maintenance of property and grounds including liaising with contractors
  • monitor site stock and ordering supplies
  • have experience of DIY and ability to carry out minor repairs, general maintenance and decorating competently
  • be willing to attend Health and Safety courses
  • be willing to attend to exceptional cleaning duties
  • be a team player and can be flexible in their approach to work with good interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • be physically fit and able to move resources and furniture around the school
  • ideally have previous school premises experience or an understanding of working in a school environment.
  • Personal Qualities
    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Level 2 qualification or equivalent in Maths/numeracy and English/literacy.
  • Relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience.
  • EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Demonstrate experience of caretaking/site-keeping in a school or similar environment.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of inclusion.
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and precautions.
  • Awareness of COSHH regulations.
  • Awareness of health and hygiene procedures.
  • Knowledge of moving and handling procedures.
  • Knowledge of the Code of Safe Working Practice (COSWP) for Caretaking and Premises Staff.
