Multi Skilled Engineer

Salary £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience

Continental Shift pattern – 4 on 4 off Days (06:00 to 18:00) and Nights (18:00 to 06:00)

The role

Reporting to the Lead Engineer, the Multi Skilled Engineer will work at our Doncaster site, you will be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance activities in line with equipment and schedule attainment, developing new activities where and when required, whilst always taking into consideration H&S standards and legislation. You will Support the Shift Lead Engineers in maintaining plant and equipment, customer service requirements and required OEE. There will also be opportunities of involvement in site project work.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out day to day maintenance activities, maintaining machine availability
  • Carry out proactive work including PPM and improvement work
  • To actively and analytically fault find
  • Contribute to implementing new working methods and actively participate in continuous improvement
  • Involvement in site projects around site
  • Maintain maintenance monitoring
  • Operate in line with all H&S Standards
  • Implement and adhere to safe working practices in accordance with legislation
  • Support the Lead Engineers in implementing workplace organisation across the engineering department
  • Mentor Apprentices within the maintenance department
  • To attend daily engineering steering, weekly RCA and monthly energy meetings
  • Profile

  • A minimum Engineering qualification of ONC (Electrical preferred) or hold a recognised apprenticeship
  • HNC Engineering Qualification (Electrical preferred) is desirable
  • A time served engineer with a recognised qualification, preferably with an electrical bias
  • A strong technical knowledge in injection moulding, extrusion and automated assembly systems
  • Experience working in a manufacturing/production-based environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, confident communicating with personnel at all levels
  • Effective organisational skills
  • Excellent time management skills with the added need for flexibility as and when required to meet business need
