Electrician Social Housing Manchester

We are working with a Manchester based Social Housing Association and looking for a customer focused Electrician to carry out all aspects of Electrical works in customers’ homes and empty properties.

On offer is a recently increased basic salary, to reflect the cost of living increases, company van, benefits and the option to earn an extra £350-£500 per week when on the call out rota.

Main areas of responsibility

  • To provide a professional electrical service that delivers an excellent customer experience. Adhering to the current edition of 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, health and safety regulations and organisational policies and procedures.
  • Repair/replace electrical fittings and diagnose and rectify electrical faults.
  • Complete relevant certification to BS: 7671 to include EICR, Minor Works and Installation certificates.
  • Undertake the following supplementary-skilled tasks (reviewed annually):
  • Disconnect and reconnect emersion heaters, pipework to showers, pumps, and valves.
  • Patch plastering.
  • Remove and refit wall tiles around bathrooms and wet rooms.
  • Remove and re-fix existing skirting boards, bath panels and timber framework.
  • Painting.
  • Remove and install vinyl floor coverings.
  • QUALIFICATIONS & PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS:

    NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent in Electrical Installation (Buildings and Structures)

    C&G 2382- 18 Requirements for Electrical Installations 18th Edition

    C&G 2391 Electrical Inspection and Testing or equivalent

    Qualified to minimum GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and maths

    EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

    A full driving licence

    Experience of completing Electrical Installation Condition Reports on Domestic Premises

    An understanding of Responsive Maintenance preferably within the Social housing Sector

    Knowledge of construction Health, safety and Welfare legislation
