Spectrum IT’s Basingstoke Client are seeking an experienced and consultative Contract QA Manger to join them on an initial 6 month contract with hybrid working (3 days onsite per week).

As the Contract QA Manager, you will focus on managing the QA team day to day and work alongside the software development team. You will lead QA team in the design and execution of QA strategies and methods to deliver and ensure a high quality project delivery. Possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be a must in this customer facing role, you will be the face of the QA team and work closely with external stakeholders. You will pride yourself on your attention to detail and bring a real passion for testing and quality to the business and project.

Responsibilities

  • Further establish and manage the QA team/discipline for the business
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture within the team
  • Work alongside external stakeholders and customers to understand requirements
  • Ensure the product achieves or exceeds the envisioned customer experience
  • Develop quality strategies for software products and oversee the development and execution of software test plans and analysis of test results
  • Ensure coordination of test activities across the various teams
  • Be a point of contact and escalation for PMs, scheduling resources to meet contracted deadlines
  • Identify, quantify, prioritize, and manage quality; contributing to the project risk mitigation plans.
  • Manage all aspects of the testing processes
  • Liaise with key stakeholders such as the Change Manger, internal technical teams such as Development Leads, Customer representatives, and the various vendors
  • Chairing meetings and presenting to a varied stakeholder group
  • Be accountable for timely communication of status or critical decisions
  • Manage work package leads to achieve project goals and objectives
  • Participate in the Core Team reporting
  • Ensure customer satisfaction, overcoming obstacles, and escalating concerns when required
  • Skills & Experience

  • Extensive QA Management experience
  • Highly experienced in customer and stakeholder management and be able to adapt communication styles to suit the environment/audience
  • Proven capabilities in leading software product testing teams, ideally for products that integrate software and hardware.
  • Previous hands-on QA experience
  • Proven ability to drive QA success via integrated cross-functional teams involving deep collaboration with technical/software team and design.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
