We are recruiting for a Team Lead Dietitian who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our is a great opportunity to join our friendly, passionate and caring team of Dietitians at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre and to advance your dietetic career and gain experience in head and neck oncology as well as service development and improving your leadership skills.
You will lead on the development of the Head and Neck Dietetic Service and alongside the Highly Specialised Macmillan Head and Neck Dietitian, will support and supervise three Senior Band 6 Dietitians and a Band 4 Dietetic Assistant Practitioner. You will manage a caseload of complex head and neck cancer patients receiving chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy, including private patients.
You will also be an advocate of multi-professional working and will be actively involved in the education and training of other Healthcare Professionals, Dietitians and Student Dietitians.
This role will help to ensure the Dietetic Department continues to provide first-class nutritional care to cancer patients treated at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.

Main duties of the job
To plan, deliver and evaluate a high quality, efficient, patient centred Dietetic Service at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre for inpatients, outpatients and private patients, in conjunction with the Highly Specialised Macmillan Head and Neck Dietitian and AHP Head of Therapies.
To lead in providing expert knowledge, holistic, advanced, dietetic assessment and treatment of patients in the specialist field of head and neck cancer. They will manage their own patient caseload which will often consist of individuals that have complex needs, with the objective of optimising nutritional status, preserving physical strength and the relief of nutritional symptoms.
To provide clinical support andday-to-day operational managementto the Nutrition and Dietetics post holder will be responsible for developing the clinical skills and professional practice of the dietetic staff and for delivering high quality multi-disciplinary team education, within the specialist area of head and neck cancer. They should also offer advice and guidance to health professionals working within the trust, regionally and nationally.
To work collaboratively with other members of the AHP Therapy Team and take responsibility for all aspects of service delivery, with support from the AHP Head of Therapies.
