Job summary

We are looking for someone to join our bank as a Phlebotomist in Gravesham Community Hospital!

You will a play a critical part in providing essential healthcare services to patients in their homes and in community settings. You will be responsible for collecting blood samples, ensuring the accuracy of blood results, and providing support and information to patients throughout the process.

We will provide you with a level of training and support to bolster your skillset to work across multiple functions if this is something you are interested in.

Main duties of the job

  • To deal with patients, who are having blood sample taken in a professional and courteous manner.
  • To maintain accuracy of patient identification on blood bottles.
  • Ensure that patients confidentiality is maintained and that Caldicott principles are adhered to.
  • To take responsibility for personal protection and safe working environment.
  • Act in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act
  • Ensure that incidents are reported in a timely manner
  • As a member of the phlebotomy team, contribute to service development.
  • Participate in clinical supervision
  • Attendance at team meetings

As a Bank Phlebotomist, youll be part of our valued team at Gravesham Community Hospital

You will be a qualified phlebotomist; however, we will support with training if you have not worked in the role for a while.

It is also essential that you hold a Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to travel requirements.
