Were looking for an innovative Paramedic, who thrives on a challenge to provide high-quality emergency care and minor injury treatment to patients in both primary care and acute care needs in a prison setting – performing procedures such as suturing, IV access, hemorrhage control, wound care and cardiac & CVA intervention.

Youll be playing an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient’s care, working as part of a team of primary care nurses, and delivering care to patients both within the healthcare centre and on the Wings/ blocks.

Main duties of the job

With the ability to think on your feet and a flexible attitude, youll be a qualified paramedic with current HCPC registration. Capable of demonstrating initiative, youll have proven post-registration experience in any of these following clinical areas: Accident & Emergency, Primary Care environments, Minor Injuries / Illness Units.   How will we support you? Youll receive an annual salary up to 42,000 per annum – dependent on experience. We offer a whole host of additional benefits such as: cycle to work scheme, free uniform, an extensive training and development structure for all employees along with an employee recognition scheme.

About us

Practice Plus Group is a specialist provider of NHS services into prison healthcare across over 45 different prisons, young offenders and immigration removal centres. We believe in putting the patient first, regardless of the environment or their history. The prison population is one of the most vulnerable and challenged patient groups in society and the delivery of their health care is conducted within often difficult and demanding environments.

The Mount prison originally opened in 1987 as a young offenders institution.
