We are looking for Mechanical or Electrical Design Managers to work on projects in the Watford area for a large, respected Tier 1 contractor. The perfect applicant will have experience working on projects within wastewater or water treatment. The projects are for a Tier 1 on Thames Water, with ongoing work.

Contract: Permanent

Rate: £50-55,000 per annum + a package

When: ASAP

Where: Watford

Duties will include:

  • Supervising drawing work to ensure that it is carried out in accordance with method statements and work Instructions from the project manager
  • Recording the progress of works on record drawings or other suitable means when required
  • Organising and leading the progress meetings
  • Working within a team to find the most efficient solution to problems
  • Contribute and create design documents, e.g P&ID, GA’s, Layouts, Specifications and schedules
  • Undertaking high level problem research and definition to collate relevant information to the projects and design problems
  • Adding a touch of innovation to the project
  • Requirements:

  • Experience working within the Water Industry is essential
  • Experience as a design lead/design manager within the water industry
  • HNC or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • CSCS
  • SSSTS backed up with sound knowledge of Health, Safety procedures
  • Able to create, read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Professional Experience as a Designer
  • Ambitious and dynamic personality
  • First Aid
  • Valid Full UK Driving License
