Job summary

We are looking to recruit a full-time Receptionist hours p/w – Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 15:00- TBC) for our front Reception Desk at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.

The role of the Receptionist is vital to the BRHC as you will play an important role in the smooth running of what is a very important and busy area of the hospital. You will be required to be the first point of contact at the hospital, so a friendly and welcoming demeanour and calmness under pressure are essential for this role. Flexibility and a can-do attitude are also vital for this post. You will need to be approachable and keen to learn any new processes.

Responsibilities will include acting as the patients’ first point of contact with the hospital, greeting and signposting patients and relatives, processing patients using Careflow EPR, liaising with colleagues to facilitate patients’ smooth and timely stay with the hospital, and sending out patient information, sorting and distributing post.
