Job summary
Due to the promotion of the existing Band 7 Advanced Occupational Therapist (OT) the Humber Centre of Forensic Psychiatry have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced, knowledgeable, and compassionate Advanced OT to join a dynamic and transforming Forensic inpatient Mental Health Service.
The Humber Centre is an all-male adult environment that offers 5 inpatient areas which includes medium, low level of security and a step-down community preparation unit to support the recovery of service-users who experience either a Personality Disorder, Psychosis and LD diagnosis.
The clinical environment has recently undergone an exciting refurbishment to increase the existing therapeutic spaces to ensure service-users have the opportunity and access to environments in which to promote their recovery. Therefore the successful applicant will have the opportunity to provide professional and clinical leadership to the already existing and established OT staff group.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be part of wider Humber OT staff group, which has approximately 80+ staff across 21 services, providing CPD opportunities.
A relocation package is available, which will include:

- Flexi working – which may include some working from home
Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead across the OT provision within the medium and low secure forensic environment, as well as having the opportunity to work alongside other health professionals to support service-users clinical pathways and recovery.
Hold a clinical caseload, provide advanced clinical experience, knowledge and expertise to support assessments, interventions to support evidence- based practice and patient centered care
The role will be required to offer clinical leadership across the existing OT provision to ensure that the OT service meets the service user needs in line with best practice, CQC standards and legislative frameworks.
Provide clinical expertise and consultation across the service to promote the role of OT, leading on OT initiatives and improvements, as well as support senior management in delivering of the wider service improvements.
