Care Support has been providing care and support to people for over 20 years.  We deliver personalised Extra Care and support to over 800 clients in the South East and continuing to grow.

The Role

You will ensure that all service users are aware of activities and events, explaining event details when required and seeking service user feedback to develop the activities programmes to suit them.

You will support services users to live independently in their own homes and community. You will also ensure that their families, friends and carers are included in all events – making their network feel welcome.

You will ensure that the activities programme include all national events, by developing relationships with the local community and voluntary groups – in order to get involved in local events and to invite these groups and neighbours to attend our events.

You will be responsible for the quarterly newsletter, Care Scheme notice board, activity budgeting and expenses, placement students / volunteers supervision – whilst promoting wellbeing and health & safety at all times.

The role is available on a Full-Time basis, with hours of work between Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

 

The Teams

You will work across 4 of our Extra Care Schemes, with our Harp House Extra Care scheme based in Upney (near Upney station) and our Colin Pond Court, Darcy House and Fred Tibble Court Extra Care Schemes based in Dagenham. Our schemes offer on-the-road parking or parking right outside the schemes.

Our schemes all offer a staff room with all the facilities you need and where you can have your lunch and breaks.

We offer care for clients with disabilities, reduced mobility, palliative, mental health, dementia and general support requirements to promote a diverse range of independence.

This is an exciting role where you will enjoy supporting activities such as arts and crafts, bingo, baking, singing artist performances, chair exercises and more. We have our in-house Cinema, activities room, guest rooms and have meals prepared in our on-site Restaurants in select schemes. Our schemes also offer beautiful gardens that host an array of activities and the teams help to support regular outings and events for our clients.

 

About You

You have a minimum of one years’ experience of working within the care industry – with an awareness of care regulations and legislation.

A good level of competency using MS packages such as Outlook, Word and Excel.

Previous experience with office administrative duties – from typing, letter writing, filing, record keeping to report preparation.

You are ideally working towards a NVQ3 or QCF level 3 in Health & Social Care – or are keen to develop your career in the Health & Social Care sector.

You have experience working to a budget and submitting your expenses monthly

Please note that you will need an Enhanced DBS check in order to provide care support. We can accept a DBS from the Update Service or assist you with a check.

Although you will work as part of the team, it is also important that you can manage your own time and activities.

You have the ability to cope with pressure and change.

 

Benefits for you

 We offer a competitive salary of £24,000 to £25,000 per annum depending on experience.
