Job summary

This is an exciting time to join a newly established serve for infants who spend time in the neonatal intensive care unit and their families. The potholder will work with a dedicated and brilliant multi-disciplinary team to shape, develop, deliver and evaluate what works for this client group in the context of exciting national investment in NICU services.

Main duties of the job

These posts will contribute to the provision of high quality, psychologically-safe, trauma and neurodevelopmentally-informed service across the neonatal services at King’s College Hospital. There is scope for innovate service development, individual and group work with families. You will be joining a receptive, flexible and committed multi-disciplinary staff group who value psychological and family approaches to support families who spend time on the NICU.

  • To provide a highly specialist psychological service within the NICU service at Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, including specialist screening, assessment, treatment, planning, implementation and monitoring of outcomes.
  • To contribute to enabling other staff, service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.
  • To provide clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate, functioning as a lead specialist in

the psychological aspects of the care and treatment of patients and their caring networks.
