Derivatives Lawyer

Role: Permanent, full-time position

Location: London

Level: Mid-Senior

The Role:

A newly created position to join a growing team within a market-leading hedge fund.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Advising the trading desks globally on derivatives and cash transactions across all product and counterparty types
  • Negotiating prime brokerage and clearing documentation
  • Negotiating and managing exchange and trading venue memberships
  • Tracking and assessing the impact of derivatives and funds regulation on the business
  • Reviewing and negotiating commercial and services contracts
  • General in-house legal work relating to offshore funds, their formation and operation
  • Experienced Required:

  • Qualified Lawyer or similar qualification
  • At least 3 years of post-qualification experience
  • Relevant experience from either the sell-side (or from derivatives) or from within private practice
  • Experience in the negotiation of ISDA documentation
  • Understanding of ISDA product definitions
  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework for derivatives transactions
  • Strong commercial awareness, solutions driven
  • Excellent drafting skills
  • Collegiate team player and results-driven individual
