Senior Sister/Charge Nurse ICU/HDU Band 7
Are you an experienced senior critical care nurse looking for a Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse position?
The Critical Care (ICU/HDU) footprint is split across 2 sites: Epsom and NHS University Hospital Trust.
We are recruiting for our Critical Care Unit based at Epsom Hospital site.
Epsom ICU/HDU is an 6-8 bedded unit providing level 2 high dependency care for surgical patients following elective surgery and medical patients. We have the ability to treat and transfer level 3 patients requiring Intensive care; working jointly with St. Helier Hospital Intensive Care Unit. Our HDU provides an Enhanced Recovery Pathway for patients following colorectal, urology, and gynaecological surgery.
ICU is a 15-17 bedded unit providing care for patients requiring emergency/scheduled general surgery, acute medical patients and those requiring renal support.
There is a requirement to work cross-site according to service needs.
There is a requirement to work long-days, nights, weekends & bank holidays.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication & leadership skills to join our team. As a Senior Nurse you will be expected to undertake clinical care, standard setting & audit & be proactive in Critical Care Clinical Governance. You will be expected to support, teach, manage & lead junior members of the nursing & multidisciplinary team, & co-ordinate the unit on a day to day basis.
You should be able to evidence excellence in clinical practice & demonstrate the ability to facilitate & manage change in the clinical environment.
