Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Bereavement Lead. The qualification required for this post is a Diploma/Degree in Bereavement /Counsellingor registered equivalent.
You will be joining a supportive team of community staff, working in Paediatric areas providing one to one and group pre/ post bereavement support for children and young people and their families on the complex/palliative care case load. To work alongside the Play Specialist to support families with memory making.
To work with CYP who have experienced bereavement of a Parent or have had a traumatic bereavement, dependant on Service needs. To run and plan Bereavement groups for both children and adults. Allowing opportunities to express their emotion around their bereavement in a safe nurturing environment. To be able to manage own case load.
Main duties of the job
Provide pre and post bereavement support to CYP and Families known to the Specialist Nursing Bereavement and Play Team.
Work alongside Play Specialist with memory making .
Provide counselling support to bereaved Children who have lost a Parent or experienced a traumatic bereavement , outside the Service.
Organise and lead bereavement groups for children and also Adults known to the Service.
