Job summary

The post holder coordinates adult Involvement activities as the Adult Involvement Lead working in a project-based way, they will develop opportunities for people with a lived experience to be proactively involved in shaping the way the organisation develops and linked to their own recovery aspirations. Examples of work to include setting up and facilitating groups, facilitating the involvement of people in service development project groups, development of skills and development of training.

The post holder will identify gaps within service and work with the Inclusion and Involvement Manager to create projects for service development, which includes training delivery, reporting, creation, and implementation of project plans. The post involves discussion and negotiation with staff throughout the organisation all levels promoting and ensuring the development of clear, safe, and effective methods for adult Involvement throughout the work of the Trust.

A vital part of the role will be maintaining an understanding of the national ‘agenda’ and developments in adult involvement.

In addition, the postholder must be able to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with staff at all levels within the diverse organisations working in adult involvement nationally and work to maintain the Trust’s leading position in service user involvement.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Involvement Lead to lead on our Adult involvement agenda at Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The post holder will coordinate the adult Involvement work programme – reporting to the Inclusion, Involvement and Volunteering Manager – and take responsibility for developing programs of work in the Trust aimed at improving the experience of service users and ensuring appropriate support for is readily available.

Working in co-production, engagement and involvement with Service Line Leads, Team Leaders across all services, new and existing carers, Experts by Experience, Service user Council, as well as 3rd Sector organisations.

  • To establish support to Service User Involvement Forum for Adult service users
  • To take a significant role in the implementation of the Trusts Adult involvement action plan and a lead role for key projects.
  • To ensure that adult service users are engaged in meaningful coproduce involvement activities with relevance to Trusts services for adult service users, which support continuous improvement and identify gaps in services
  • To advise Trust Staff on the development of appropriate safe and effective involvement activities
  • To report on progress in a way that shows ongoing development and to provide regular reports to the appropriate adult or practice governance meetings, taking into account areas of concern and current development for the service.
  • To support localised adult Team with embedding involvement, through the involvement representatives.
  • To ensure that feedback measures, such as HYS, Friends and Family test questions, outcome measures are linked in with service users involvement.
