Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (UHSx) for an experienced dietician to join our Upper Gastro-Intestinal Cancer Specialist team as we expand and develop our service provision on our Brighton site. This post will initially be on a fixed term basis for two years, but with the intention of it then becoming substantive.

Main duties of the job

You will provide clinical expertise and leadership to the UGI dietician service at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton alongside our Consultant Dietician.

You will demonstrate specialist clinical knowledge and skills to ensure patients referred to the service receive expert care and management appropriate to their individual needs and preferences, in relation to their nutritional requirements. The service covers the whole patient pathway through diagnostic, surgical, oncological and palliative care pathways.

You will work collaboratively with the Multi-Professional Team across UHSx and colleagues in other Trusts locally as required, to ensure patient pathways of care for their nutritional needs are managed seamlessly, professionally and compassionately and in line with local, regional and national guidelines.
