Bids & Projects Co-ordinator – flexible location

We have offices in Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds, London, Bristol, Southampton and Plymouth so it would be great if you were able to access one of these locations for socialising with colleagues and office working as and when required. We offer hybrid and full-time home working so we’d also consider applications from people elsewhere in the UK.

The Firm

Womble Bond Dickinson is a dynamic UK law firm providing a comprehensive legal service to our clients across a wide range of legal expertise and sectors, from seven cities across the UK including London. We are committed to maximising the potential of our people and recruiting, developing and retaining market-leading talent across all our teams.

The Department

Our Business Development team is firmly embedded within the business and works closely with our partners offering a real expertise in winning new business and delivering an excellent client experience. Our success comes from really understanding our clients, their businesses and sectors and working in strategic partnership with them. But that’s not enough. We know that to secure new business and further growth, we have to really differentiate ourselves in a crowded market – our Business Development team is crucial to this strategy.

The Team

The Bids team project manages the delivery of our bid and proposal processes, and co-ordinates strategically significant firm-wide pitches and panel reviews. The team assists with new opportunities to help to penetrate the firm’s sectors and key client relationships, and develops and constantly improves the model for best practice in new business bids to maximise the return on time and investment in this area.

The Role

The role of the Bids & Projects Co-ordinator is to collaborate with colleagues in the Bids team, others in the wider Business Development team and across the firm, on both day-to-day bids and related projects, all with the aim of ensuring that our bids’ processes are always high quality and we secure maximum return on our investments in winning profitable work.

Day to day you will manage the central email inbox for the team and analyse potential new bid opportunities. You will also manage online tender portals, update our CRM system and collate summary information on themes and trends for wider reporting. The role will also require a large element of project work, including owning specific responsibilities such as maintaining the team intranet pages, and ensuring standard wording banks and CVs are kept up to date.

The Person

You’ll be experienced in providing proactive support for a busy team working to non-negotiable deadlines. In addition, you’ll need a proven track record in managing projects at the same time as coordinating live opportunities and be highly organised and able to prioritise workloads. We’re looking for an exceptional team-player who isn’t afraid to be visible on projects.

You’ll need to be practical and hands-on, yet able to take a proactive, imaginative and strategic view when making decisions and have the confidence to question others and suggest alternatives where appropriate.

Although not essential, a background in business development or marketing (ideally within the professional services sector) would be highly beneficial in this role.

In terms of location, we adopt a hybrid working policy and a flexible approach with colleagues being able to access their nearest office from our network across seven cities.
