Job summary

An opportunity has arisenfor an enthusiastic Lead Doctor with a special interest in Womens Health todevelop the Womens Health Hub for Central Liverpool Primary Care Network.

The post holder must be acompetent and confident current LARC fitter and smear taker. They must alsohave knowledge and an interest in menopause management.

They must have leadershipand managerial skills to manage and develop the Women’s Health Hub and bringadditional services on board.

The CLPCN hub is open 6days per week (Monday – Saturday). We offer flexible working.

The post is for 2 x 4hrsessions per month.

Salary and Annual leave are inline with Agenda for Change.

Main duties of the job

Tobe actively involved in the development and growth of the Women’s Health Hubin accordance with the Women’s Health strategy. To be competent to fit LARCsand assist in the delivery of a menopause service.

Although we allow for someremote working (depending on the role) we want to make you aware that you willneed to be based on-site to carry out your duties. We would also like to statethat you will need to reside in Liverpool (or within the near vicinity).

The postholder must have substantial experience in Womens Health and be a competent,current coil and implant fitter and smear taker. They must also be able todemonstrate leadership and managerial skills.

The postholder will work as part of a multi -disciplinary team but they must be able towork autonomously and be competent when dealing with sexual health and womenshealth services including managing the menopause.

Principal Responsibilities:

Working with the ICB Womens Health committee andcommissioners for service development within the Womens Health Hub.

Initiating new services and working with the ServiceLeads and commissioners.

Participation inaudit/clinical governance issues such as record keeping, patient satisfaction.Maintaining and monitoring any requested details. Implementation of any actionsrequired following audit with the aim of improving quality of services.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Clinical sessions for LARCs.

Helping to develop a menopause service for CLPCN.

Perform opportunistic cervical cytology.

Perform LARC telephone triage.

Participating in the teaching of other healthprofessionals (to include junior staff and pre and post registration students)and other agencies as required.

Maintaining ahigh level of service to patients in the absence of a doctor and referral toalternative clinics/agencies as appropriate.

Facilitation of Learning:

To support the ongoingdevelopment of junior staff and colleagues and participate in monthly educationupdates

To providementorship/supervision to junior staff.

To contribute in theleadership of the Womens Health Hub.

Demonstrateproblem-solving skills underpinned from perspectives, for example in researchprocesses, service and quality improvement techniques, educational theory orleadership and management theory.

Participatein the implementation of CLPCN research projects. This may also includeundertaking a piece of original research

Collaborateproactively with public health agencies and local authorities to ensure theWomens Health Hub is actively engaged in the health improvement strategies forthe local community

Ableto assimilate information from a range of sources and ensure complex decisionsreflect the analysis of these different perspectives even when limited informationis available.

Activelyparticipate in the development of CLPCN strategies and ensure collaborativeworking with others to translate this into practice development to improve thequality of care.

Ableto lead on key aspects of quality assurance to develop robust outcome indicatorand other aspects of clinical governance.
