We are looking for enthusiastic Phlebotomists to become part of the Nursing team providing care in our Community Nursing Services across Kirklees.
Main duties of the job
Your main role will be to provide a phlebotomy service across the Community Nursing networks, collecting samples of blood from house bound patients in their own homes. You will be required to work within a team but also possess the skills to manage own workload independently.
The successful candidate will:
- Work on their own initiative to manage workload and take referrals from General Practice via the Community Nursing teams.
- Ensure that patients are treated safely and courteously at all times and experience the minimum of distress or discomfort throughout the blood sampling procedure.
- Be aware of risk and to take all reasonable precautions to maintain patient and personal safety at all times.
- Maintain the phlebotomy stocks and equipment, keeping them clean, in good order and appropriately stored.
- Dispose of all syringes, needles, etc. in accordance with health and safety procedures.
We are a group of friendly teams who work together to ensure each service runs smoothly and efficiently for both service users and colleagues. The post holders will need to be flexible to cover varying shifts dependent on the services need.
A professional manner along with a helpful friendly disposition are also key to the provision of first class customer service and very much in line with Locala Values.
