An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Research Data Practitioner to join our dynamic Immunology team at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust for a one year fixed term post.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual, with excellent communication skills and prior experience in management of information systems, as well as knowledge of research information handling and analysis.

You will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, show initiative and adopt a proactive approach to managing their workload.Based in central London, GOSH offers flexible working, help with childcare and travel, excellent training and development opportunities and assistance with finding somewhere to live.

Main duties of the job

  • National centre coordinator ensuring sites across the UK have valid and up to date data entered into the UK registry and that sites are trained and equipped to do this
  • Ensure data quality at sites through regular surveillance/audit (remote or in person)
  • Participates in communication with the medical team, Research Nurses, Clinical Nurse Specialists, patients and their families to meet the specific needs of the study
  • Provide cross cover for other clinical research practitioners as directed by the Immunology Lead Research Nurse
  • Coordinates and monitors the care of patients enrolled into research studies and clinical trials as follows:
  • Participates in identifying potential patients for the national registry
  • Evaluates eligibility of potential patients.
  • Ensures all pre-study tests are undertaken and results obtained.
  • Acts as patient advocate and assists in obtaining informed consent as the study – trial progresses/unfolds.
  • Registers/randomises patients onto study protocols.
