Equality & Inclusion Lead & Freedom to Speak Up Guardian

8A – £53,703 – £59,796 Inclusive of Hcas pa pro rata

The post holder will lead the development and delivery of Bromley Healthcare’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda, developing and implementing policies and frameworks for EDI in order to foster an inclusive culture and a working environment that promotes equality of opportunity and diversity for all colleagues.

The post holder will also be Bromley Healthcare’s lead Freedom to Speak Up Guardian. The FtSU role aims to contribute to patient safety through supporting and enabling individuals to speak up about concerns, and through building a culture of speaking up. The Guardian is an independent role supported by Senior Leadership, the National Guardians Office and a network of Guardians.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Master’s degree or equivalent level experience.
  • CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent E&I experience.

Training

Essential

  • Excellent knowledge of key legislation including Equality Act 2010
  • Competent in use of wide range of Equality & Human Rights focused improvement approaches, diagnostics, tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of equality frameworks and benchmarking tools e.g. EDS2, Local Government Equality Framework etc and Equality Impact Assessments.

Specific Skills

Essential

  • Ability to produce reports and undertake analysis of data.
  • Able to undertake detailed audits of departments/functions to assess progress against the Equality agenda
  • Comprehensive track record of supporting and listening to staff
  • Evidence of successful “internal consultancy” with a range of different groups covering clinical and professional staff.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience at strategic and senior level in facilitating and enabling culture change specifically in the E& I context
  • Significant experience and track record of delivering change and transformation to improve Inclusion & Culture
  • Experience of interpreting national policy and developing and delivering strategies to drive forward the Equality, Diversity & inclusion agenda
  • Experience and understanding of working with and empowering communities to engage with the health care providers and influence change.
  • Previous management of complex concerns and issues, in a management, staff side or governance role
