The Permanent Division of Robert Half are excited to be working on a retained basis with Lindstrom in Bedford to assist with the recruitment of a Business Controller for their UK business. You will play a critical role in supporting the Organisation during an exciting period of investment, growth and development for the business.

The Role

As Business Controller you will work in a Commercial Accounting capacity and will monitor and drive country/region financial performance, taking responsibility, adding strategic commentary and reporting the actual results.

The role of Business Controller will assess performance against business strategy and make actionable data-driven recommendations on both strategy and operations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.

This will be achieved through presenting critical and insightful financial and operational information and develop forward looking analysis, working with different stakeholders to investigate and identify opportunities for efficiency, cost savings and business growth.

Day to day duties will consist of:

  • Help Lindström Finance and country management team to set out a longer term strategy for their business
  • Help company Managing Directors to set out a longer term strategy for their business
  • Review the budget based on performance to date, and make appropriate recommendations for amendments through the reforecast process
  • Give management a clear indication of where their performance for the year is heading, and helping them to understand what actions need to be taken
  • Provide the business unit and channel teams with all the reporting required to help them manage their areas, including monthly summaries of actual performance
  • Tight co-operation with data-driven end-to-end process support together with the accounting team
  • Customer profitability and pricing support, insight and challenging
  • Lead the annual budget-setting process, playing a key role at the interface between finance and the business
  • Ensure availability of high-quality forward-looking information
  • Support business in providing information with relevance for business issues, i.e. linked in to growth or cost reduction analyses
  • Provide accurate monthly latest view reporting, by providing input and insight
  • Core Reporting and Financial Reporting alongside the Global Finance team
  • VAT Returns
  • Audit Management

Your Profile

You can be a Qualified, Studying or QBE Accountant with a strong core accounting background mixed with strong commercial accounting ideally from a contract or service based business. You will have Commercial understanding of revenue and cost drivers, opportunities and threats and a strategic understanding of business dynamics, strategy analysis and follow-up. This is an excellent role within a dynamic and exciting business and integral in the ongoing development and growth of the business.

Salary and Benefits

The role of Business Controller in Bedford will be working on a Hybrid basis and is paying £50-60K.
