The difference our Principal Engineer – RF Transmission will make

This role represents a fantastic and rare opportunity to learn from our existing experts and develop your own expertise in the vital area of VLF, LF and HF transmission technology. You will have unique access to tailored training and development as well as mentoring from the UK’s experts in the field of RF transmission technology.

Day to day, you’ll use your expertise to support on RF and HF queries, supporting in the creation of optimally compliant solutions in response to customer requirements, from concepts through to in-life support. You’ll participate in the creating of technical evolution plans and contribute to Research & Development activities. You’ll support in areas including:

  • Transmitter architecture & design
  • RF Propagation and path performance analysis
  • Antenna and transmission line tuning & matching
  • Antenna design & assessment
  • Radio site survey, selection & design

    Essential experience

    We’re looking for an individual who wants to be stretched and who is willing to learn how to develop big ideas and solve complex problems with simple and elegant solutions. If you can navigate change easily, are curious about what the future holds and want to learn new skills, you will thrive in this role.

    You’ll have the following experience/attributes:

  • Demonstrable engineering experience within the communications domain.
  • Degree in telecommunications or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience within the RF domain, ideally within military communications.
  • A desire to learn and wish to develop their technical skills in a vital area.
  • Ideally, experience of systems engineering.
