Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Nursing Assistantto join our Community Respiratory and Virtual Wards Teams.

This exciting role offers the opportunity to work ina caring, supportive, and professional environment where you will contribute tothe care and support of patients in the community both virtually and face toface.

Assisting specialist practitioners in the managementof acutely unwell patients on the virtual wards and working closely with ourrespiratory nurse specialists, your role will be varied and interesting.

Candidates will need to be able to work autonomouslyand as part of a team. The post-holder will be supported by senior cliniciansto develop skills in delivering care to patients.

You must be a licensed car driver and have access toa car for this post.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Assisting in the planning of care and therapy, engaging the patient in their own home environment.

Assisting patients and their carers in the implementation of individualised care plans.

Performing and recording clinical observations, communicating effectively both verbally and in writing to patients, relatives, members of the multi-disciplinary team and external agencies where appropriate.

Performing home safety checks to ensure patients using oxygen at home remain safe.

Deliver, install and collect equipment from patients home as appropriate.

  • NVQ Level 3 in health related subject or equivalent
